h1 tags for looks? An H1 tag huh?Yes, an H1 tag can help save the day. While it might not be Superman, a well placed h1 tag can save your page. Having a properly utilized h1 tag can mean worlds to a page. From an SEO standpoint it can mean precious points in the page ranking system. I think more importantly is the effect it has for a reader. In today's fast paced society we want to be able to step out and quickly find what it is we are looking for. Gone are the days of digging for information on the superhighway of life. If we can't quickly find it here then we can probably quickly find it there. Knowing this gives us a leg up if we utilize it to our advantage. Knowing that people are looking for quick answers, why not put a quick 5-8 word big as life answer right in front of their noses. Intro: H1 tag... The h1 tag was originally made to be an eye catcher. It was meant to be the "headline" of the page. Without styling, this tag can be a bit cumbersome in size. With some styling, it can be just what the doctor ordered. H1 tags look like this in the code <h1> and </h1> anything in-between the two tags is given the "style" of "h1". That is to say whatever style you have made for the h1. With the ability to quickly catch an eye and focus some attention, I think you will see that the H1 tag is not as outdated as you might think. |
